How Do Visitors Use Our Sites?
With input from our users and Board of Advisors, we found most users are interested in selecting a topic or category of research first, THEN selecting a media type. As a result our navigation is focused on which topic a user is interested in, and building content around that interest. For example, if someone is interested in PCI compliance, they would click on that category and then choose if they'd like to read an article, listen to a podcast interview, or attend a webinar. They will know that any of those options will produce content that is focused on PCI compliance.
This is important for vendors to understand as our marketing programs follow suit. Vendor campaigns and
individual assets are fit within certain topics or categories and then listed by media type. From a vendor perspective, this means all of the media types and assets
on a category page are focused on that specific category, and a strong association is inferred to the site visitor that a certain asset is implied to our subscribers. |
